El Llibru

This is a digital version for Android tablet devices of the book written in Asturian “El llibru de lo más piquiñino de casa” that the City Council of Gijón (Spain) handed out to families who had babies at the local hospital with the purpose of collecting the earliest memories, photos and important stages of their children, from birth to their third birthday: meals, school activities, first-time moments, family, how they grow up, funny words, names of girls and boys, signatures of the people who care for them…

This campaign has been launched by different municipalities within the regional programme for linguistic normalization to encourage families to transmit the Asturian language to their children in their first years, a period which will have a great impact on their future, promoting linguistic normalization in different areas of society and thus reinforcing the presence of the Asturian language in new information and communication technologies.
